What is Anastronat 1 mg Tablet ?

Anastronat is an anti-cancer hormone therapy that contains “Anastrozole IP” as an active ingredient. This medication belongs to a class of medications called nonsteroidal aromatase inhibitors. When is Anastronat 1 mg tablet prescribed ?

Anastronat (Anastrozole) tablets are used to treat breast cancer in women who have gone through the menopause.

How Does Anastronat (Anastrozole) Tablets Work ?

Many breast cancers are sensitive to oestrogen, and they need this hormone to grow. These types of breast cancer are termed ‘hormone receptor positive’. After the menopause, oestrogen is no longer made in the ovaries. Instead, it’s made in the fatty tissues of the body. This happens when an enzyme called aromatase changes other hormones into oestrogen.

Anastrozole works by blocking this enzyme (aromatase). This reduces the amount of oestrogen in your body, which slows the growth of the cancer cells. Anastronat (Anastrozole) also prevent breast cancer from spreading to other areas of the body and also reduces risk of developing cancer in the other breast.
